Theory of Writing & Editing

If anything that I've kept with me throughout my experience in my WEPO class, it is that we should be open to change. Not only on a personal level but as future writers or creators. We have applied this logic since the first few weeks of this course. I've also noticed this changing aspect in terms of creating our major projects. Doing the first collaboration discussion within our groups for the first project, we were constantly changing our ideas about what we wanted to do. Even the name that we chose for our group was changed so many times until it fit what we wanted it to be.

When creating our website for our second major project, that was when we were hands-on and got to make the big decisions for our website. We changed it a lot and revised every aspect of the website from the title to what information we wanted on our website. It reminded me of a reading we discussed in class by Scott Wible. This is what my Writing and Editing in Print and Online courses taught me. I never thought that you would be so creative in this course and use different tools to help us learn I think creatively in writing. It allow me to change my idea of what writing could be and that it could be in a different format than just words on paper.

Going through this course this semester really showed me that you can apply the theory of writing and editing throughout the work that we do as writers. It guides us to revise and change our writing and our way of looking at writing and editing. It allows us to view our first draft of writing and say that it is not perfect, and you can edit/ revise it to get that final product we want.
